ILP Design- Prezi

Standard: SS.912.W.7

The design tool that I looked into was Prezi. This tool is a useful alternative to PowerPoint in that it creates a nice flow to a presentation. Rather then just clicking and the next slide pops up, Prezi allows for a presentation to fly around the screen from one informational panel to the next. For my presentation I created a somewhat simplistic Prezi about World War I. The account I already had from years ago prohibited my use of some features, however I was still able to create something adequate. To start off, Prezi gives the creator templates to choose from. Luckily the template I found fit my subject quite nicely. However if you can't find a suitable template you can just create one. After which you can add panels that you can fill with information, pictures, or even videos. Prezi allows you to incorporate many different ways to show facts about the subject you are talking about. After you have everything written down, you create a path for your project follow and you are then ready to Prezi!

  1. Maybe it's an efficacy issue, but I have never enjoyed the use of Prezi. I haven't used it often which may contribute to my hesitation to utilize its features. It's difficult to see what the software adds to a presentation that Powerpoint does not. I find Prezi to be more time consuming to use and complicated. I may choose to explore the website further in my second ILP. It was convenient to view your presentation on the website, but Powerpoint presentations can be shared in similar fashion through Google.

Did you learn anything about Prezi that makes it a more attractive option than Powerpoint for basic presentation?

  3. I think your graphics were awesome! I think it could have used a little but of more information depending on what grade level you were addressed. I personally love having pictures and I think it could have used more pictures! But other than that you got straight to the point and had the information that you needed to give out!

  4. I did a Prezi for my project too! I really enjoyed yours! I like how it was to the point and easy to follow. It's crucial for Prezis and Powerpoints to be to the point and eyecatching and yours definitely is! Did you create your own layout or reuse one? I really liked how you used a world map as the layout!! Good job!! :)

  5. Your Prezi presentation was great, but I can't seem to go out of my way or at least I find it difficult to use it the first place. I don't see myself using Prezi in the future but I do know the benefits. Prezi adds more of a sleek style of presentations and powerpoints and is accessible as long as you have connection to the internet. Prezi adds another dimension to the way presentations can be made and shown.
